Kraków, from 14 to 17 September 2017, will become a world capital of mercy and charity. The Kraków Planty Park near the Słowacki theatre, surrounding the historic city centre, will become a space where the most significant NGOs from the entire world will be able to present their operations, share their experiences, and show the reasons and methods for bringing all kinds of aid to the needy, as well as to present the nature and form of their operations.
The Fair will also be an opportunity to meet people whose life passion, work, and initiatives bring daily charity and mercy. This will be the first opportunity to meet in such company.
The Veritatis Splendor Charity Fair – as we have called this formula for meetings, workshops, debates, concerts, and presentations in Kraków – is a continuation of the international John Paul II Veritatis Splendor Award. During the Fair, the second edition of the award will be announced.
The first winner of the John Paul II Veritatis Splendor Award was Sister Rosemary Nyirumbe from Uganda, where for many years she has served the people. Sister Rosemary will be one of many invited guests at the Fair. We will meet these guests at tents and stands operated by various organisations, at panel discussions and conferences, at concerts, presentations, workshops, and performances. All in order to mutually inspire one another, to share experiences, to broaden our horizons, and to search for the truth about Man, so in need of mercy.
To all those who hold near and dear doing good, helping, sympathising with, and understanding their fellow man, we propose fascinating workshops and discussions, as well as meetings with exceptional people from around the world, from many different communities, religious backgrounds, and cultural circles. In this effort to do good will also take part creative individuals, thanks to whom we will be able to participate in shows of mapping, exhibitions, and concerts.
